Work room by room, and sort items according to the list. Work with a single item at a time. Start with a smaller room first. This will give you a feeling of progress.
Start by first going through a room a eliminating the “trash”, then start on the give-away, yard sale and storage items
Be sure to have enough packing materials, boxes and containers.
Trash
Trash is trash - over time things become broken or useless, or not donatable. Some items can be recycled, while others are just trash and not worth anything. Make sure that items that are considered trash are handled correctly. Trash is just not trash – while it is of no use to you, you have to dispose of trash correctly.
